On June 11, in Nandpur village panchayat located near the city, the mineral team and the revenue team seized 20 cubic meters of sand and gravel illegally excavated from the Bel river on government land adjacent to the village. Under the Illegal Storage Act, a penalty of about Rs 1 lakh was imposed against the deputy sarpanch of the panchayat, Chandra Kishore Punde.
